# BalconyPatrol

## What it's for

Made for balconies, gardens, and patios — BalconyPatrol spots unwanted wildlife and helps deter it
before your plants become the target.

- **Smart actions** — deters only species you've flagged.
- **Wildlife gallery** — saves the best shots and visitor stats.

## Patrol in action

- Squirrel — deterred. 2 visits this week.
- Sparrow — observed. 12 visits, usually 8–10AM.
- Leo, the house cat — observed. The most seen visitor.

Results so far:

- 68% fewer squirrel visits after six weeks of patrol.
- 300+ days running, solar powered and self-managing.
- 0 resident triggers in the last 90 days.

## How it is built

- **Self-sufficient hardware**: camera, motion sensing, solar power, battery, and deterrent
  hardware in one compact system. No wires, no wall socket.
- **Smart online. Useful offline.**: cloud-powered recognition with fallback behavior when the
  connection disappears. Runs on an ESP32-S3.
- **Built end-to-end**: designed, programmed, assembled, and tested in real-world conditions.
