BalconyPatrol is a pre-launch project based in Quebec, Canada. This policy explains how we collect, use, and handle personal information through balconypatrol.com and its waitlist.
Information we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address and signup details, including the time, selected language, approximate location, and referral or campaign information.
If you answer optional questions, we collect those answers. If you contact us, we collect the information you include in your message.
Our website infrastructure and measurement tools may also process technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device details, pages visited, and referral information, to deliver and protect the website and measure its use.
How we use information
We use information to:
- manage the waitlist and send launch updates and prototype-testing invitations;
- respond to questions and requests;
- understand which pages and campaigns lead to visits and signups;
- maintain website performance and prevent abuse.
Cookies and measurement
Our website analytics do not use cookies. They count visits in aggregate, such as pages viewed, referring sites, device types, and approximate location.
If you arrive from one of our ads, the advertising platform may use a cookie or similar technology to measure whether the ad led to a visit or signup.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website and waitlist work without them.
Service providers and information sharing
We use providers for website delivery and security, hosting and storage, email delivery, analytics, and advertising measurement. These providers receive or process information needed for their respective services.
Information may be processed or stored outside Quebec, including outside Canada, where different privacy laws may apply.
We may also disclose information where required by law.
We do not sell personal information.
Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, taking into account the status of the launch, your subscription, and applicable legal requirements.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it where appropriate and permitted by law. We may retain limited records to honour unsubscribe requests, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations.

Joining the waitlist and answering optional questions are voluntary.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails. You can also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to withdraw consent to its use or disclosure, subject to applicable legal requirements.
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No method of online transmission or storage is completely secure.
Device and prototype privacy
This policy covers the website and waitlist. Information about privacy practices for prototype testing and the BalconyPatrol device—including camera images and cloud processing—will be provided before those activities begin.
Changes
We may update this policy as our practices change. We will publish the revised version here with an updated date and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required.
